Bonamassa hires Sherinian as band member

Full-time job: Derek Sherinian
Joe Bonamassa has recruited fellow ex-Black Country Communion member Derek Sherinian for his solo band.
The keyboardist is a full-time member after joining the guitarist for his tour of South America earlier this month.
The pair last worked together on ill-fated BCC album Afterglow, released last year. Its launch was overshadowed by a war of words between Bonamassa and frontman Glenn Hughes which saw Sherinian, drummer Jason Bonham and producer Kevin Shirley divided over the outfit’s future.
Blues artist Bonamassa says: “Derek is a great player, and we’re ecstatic to welcome him as the latest member of the band.”
Sherinian is a former member of Dream Theater and he’s also worked with Alice Cooper, Billy Idol and Black Label Society. His most recent outing was as a member of prog supergroup PSMS also featuring Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan and Tony MacAlpine.
Hughes recently reported he was working on music with Bonham.
