Kentucky is offering a new online service called “Emergency Notice.”
The registry gives police information on who to contact, if you’re involved in a serious car crash or emergency situation.
Kentuckians can submit their contact’s name and phone number at the Emergency Notice portal on the drive.ky.gov website.
“Following a serious automobile crash, this valuable tool will significantly expedite communication between first responders and a driver’s loved ones,” said Governor Matt Bevin.
“Time is of the essence during an emergency, and we are excited to make this easy-to-use system available to all Kentuckians.”
Sign-up is voluntary and the information will be kept confidential by police. Users will be required to input their license number, date of birth, first and last name.
Emergency contact information is limited to name, relationship and phone number. Once submitted, the information is available the same day to law enforcement dispatchers.
Kentuckians with limited internet access may call KYTC at 502-564-1257.
