In the wake of substantial growth, Raben Tire will be moving to a new facility on the east side.
It’s the former Sears Auto Center on South Green River Road near Washington Square Mall.
“After spending years and years looking across the street at an 18 bay facility that is now sitting vacant, it was an opportunity to save it from the wrecking ball,” James Raben told WIKY News.
Raben is remodeling the facility and renovating the service center with state-of-the-art equipment.
“We don’t have an exact date yet (for the move), but early May is what we are working towards right now,” Raben added.
Sears closed the Evansville department store in April of 2018. The auto center had 18 service bays along with a large product showroom.
Raben Tire operates over 30 tire and service locations in six states. The company was founded in Evansville by Butch Raben in 1952.
