A section of Riverside Drive in Evansville will be closing for at least a week. A crew will be replacing a major water line.
“This is a very important line to our system,” explained Patrick Keepes, Water Superintendent. “It feeds upwards of 50 percent of our population.”

Last August, the utility performed integrity testing, which identified areas of potential failure. It will take 7 to 10 days to make the necessary repairs.
As a result, Riverside Drive will be closed between Cherry Street and Shawnee Drive. There will be a detour set up along 2nd Street.
