An Evansville woman and her eighth-grade daughter will soon move into the first Habitat for Humanity house built in Jacobsville in years.
Tiffany Sherman and her daughter expect to spend a lot of time in the kitchen as they both like to cook and bake.
The house on east Oregon Street is the first of about two dozen Habitat homes planned for the neighborhood.
Habitat for Humanity has built homes in the Jacobsville area before, but none have been built recently.
In January, Vectren announced a $5.5 million workforce housing investment in Evansville.
This is a partnership between the energy cooperation, Habitat for Humanity, Hope of Evansville and Catholic Charities.
