In the wake of the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, some communities are advocating defunding their police departments.
Evansville… not so much…
So far there are no such pushes among Evansville city council members, nor a majority of those who protest police brutality.
City Council members say some wards have expressed no interest in abolishing the Evansville Police Department, although there have been discussions in police procedural reforms.
