The Cave-In-Rock Ferry halted operations about 10 o’clock this morning when high winds forced it to tie up for the day.
Winds along the Ohio had been running at about 20 miles per hour out of the west at the crossing site.
Any time the wind runs up-river it creates hazardous conditions.
Forecasters say wind conditions should remain unchanged through the balance of the day.
Plans call for service to resume at 6am tomorrow (Thursday)
