The long-idled New Harmony Way Bridge may come closer to being re-opened to some degree.
An engineering firm has been engaged to examine the span and determine whether it can support traffic between New Harmony Indiana and Illinois across the Wabash.
The probe will concentrate on structural integrity, design and construction options.
The aim is to make sure the bridge is structurally sound and safe, and/or what needs to be done to make it so.
The inspection is to begin today. (Monday)
