Indiana Republican Senator Todd Young says confirmation hearings for President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee will proceed on Monday.
Young told WIKY News in a one-on-one interview that the votes are there to confirm since the GOP has a 53-seat majority in the confirming body.
He says he expects some tempestuous sessions with Senate Democrats trying some “shenanigans” to discredit Amy Coney Barrett, the jurist nominated to the bench.
Young also expressed satisfaction that a group of ISIS members known humorlessly as “The Beatles” have been brought to the United States to stand trial for murders, including that of Peter Kassig, who was killed while delivering humanitarian supplies to Syria.
