Evansvilles’s Macy’s location in Eastland mall is not on the retailer’s current list of stores it intends to close.
Macy’s plans to close 125 stores by 2023 with an eye toward getting out of under-performing shopping malls.
The company will focus its location investment on the nation’s best malls and continue growth outside of shopping malls.
Macy’s closed about 30 locations in 2020.
