The magic moment of a couple’s engagement was almost spoiled by an angry stranger. It all went down on a beach in Ottowa, Canada, and was shared on TikTok by a friend filming the romantic proposal. The video shows the Canadian Karen approaching the man setting up the seaside space and yelling at him about it because it didn’t meet her approval.
Her issue? She assumed the roses being used were “fake” and would be left behind after the proposal was over. As Karen tries to call them out, the couple’s friend tries to hurry her along so she’s not in the middle of her tirade as the bride-to-be arrives. “Thank you for your concern,” she says. “We’re not gonna stop this event for this conversation, so please walk away.”
What Karen didn’t know? The man popping the question had hired an event planner who was aware of the beach’s regulations and set up tent, candles, and pillows and scattered the flowers and he was planning to clean it all up. The roses were also real, not fake, like Karen thought. But even after explaining their plans to Karen, they say she wouldn’t listen and kept “trying to interrupt the event.” Eventually, she realized they were real roses and gave up her fight before she ruined the surprise for the woman being proposed to, who said “yes,” according to a follow-up video.
