A new law in Indiana starts today that’s meant to decrease overcrowding in county jails.
The House Bill allows level 6 felons to be sent to state prisons rather than county jails.

Sheriff Dave Wedding says this makes life hard on guards and faculty with the extra inmates.
The change will take time, but they’re hoping that in the end, their numbers will return within their normal range.
