Scott Township Fire and EMS in Evansville was one of 64 departments in the United States to receive a new grain rescue tube through Nationwide Insurance.
Dan Neenan, Director for the National Education Center for Ag Safety, made the trip from Peosta, Iowa to show the department how to use the life saving equipment.
Neenan says the average time it takes to remove a victim from a silo is 3.5 hours.
He has built a traveling confined space bin that he uses to train first responders on different rescue methods.
Scott Township is one of six departments in Indiana to be equipped with a rescue tube.
