Indiana’s near-total abortion ban starts today, banning all abortions with a few exceptions.
Those exceptions are rape, incest, when the mother’s life is at risk, or when the fetus is facing fatal anomalies.
Indiana abortion clinic operators have filed a lawsuit hoping to block the ban.
Another suit was filed by an Indiana county claiming the ban would violate the state’s constitution by infringing on the rights to privacy.
Last month Governor Eric Holcomb sign the abortion ban into law making Indiana the first state to do so.
