Overcrowding within the Vanderburgh Humane Society has put them in a tough spot with the possibility of euthanizing cats and dogs for more space.
Officials say they haven’t been put in this position for almost three years.
Employees say they are overworked with having to take care of over 500 cats and too many dogs.
VHS is looking for volunteers and accepting donations to get them through this hard time.
Today and tomorrow the Humane Society is offering 50 off percent of fixed animals.
First responder families get an additional $20 off as part of Super Mutts Adoption Week.
