A Florida felon was caught in Evansville while trying to cash a phony check.
Police were called to Fifth Third bank on Green River Road around 11:00 Saturday morning.
The teller told police the style of checks in the system didn’t match for the account being used.
The Miami man told officers his name was Carlos Perez, but later found out he was 31 year old Daury Filion and was wanted on five felonies.
He tried to run, but didn’t get very far.
An EPD officer injured his knee and elbow during the arrest.
Filion is in the Vanderburgh County jail on no bond.
