Warrick Literacy and Educational Connections (WLEC) is hosting their annual “For the Love of Books
Celebration” on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Friedman Park Event Center in Newburgh, Indiana! Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:00 p.m.
The ticket price of $50 includes entry into the event, the cost of your meal, signed autographs by two local authors, the crowning of our event King and Queen, and more! Cocktails available for purchase.
This event serves as the single fundraiser for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library which provides books free of cost to any child ages 0 – 5 in Warrick County! Currently, there are 2,000 children in Warrick County who receive these books in the mail each month!
The program was first established in 2017 by Castle North Middle School’s genON Club. Beginning in 2019, Warrick Literacy and Educational Connections became the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting childhood literacy and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Warrick County. WLEC has mailed over 65,000 books since 2018; 24,973 in 2022 alone!
