Indiana families will no longer have to foot the bill for textbook fees starting this coming school year.
The change is intended to lighten the financial burden on families who have reportedly had to shell out hundreds of dollars for course materials in previous years.
The new law provides $160 million for materials, but a per-student amount has yet to be determined.
While education advocates agree the new law will help Hoosier families, they say the state must support the schools with the financial burden.
