Tuesday afternoon, Porter County Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting a crash on I-94 at the Salt Creek overpass near Portage, Indiana.
Two local fishermen were walking Salt Creek scouting for fishing holes when they spotted what appeared to be a crashed vehicle.
The person inside the vehicle looked lifeless, so one of the men touched him.
27-year-old Matthew Reum turned his head and started speaking.
The crash likely happened on December 20th.
Reum was flown to a hospital in South Bend for treatment of severe life-threatening injuries.
