Evansville will conduct its annual Point-in-Time count of people experiencing homelessness starting today at noon.
The Aurora Homeless Outreach Team and other agencies will count those living in shelters and on the street.
This is mandated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The count provides a snapshot of the number and characteristics of people experiencing homelessness in Evansville.
The count concludes at noon on Thursday.
The results from last year’s Point-in-Time homeless count were over 500 people.
