Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has filed a new lawsuit against Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly in an effort to lower insulin prices for residents.
The lawsuit claims deceptive market practices, accusing Eli Lilly of participating in a scheme with other insulin manufacturers, inflating insulin prices by more than 1000%.
Prior efforts have prompted manufacturers to reduce prices and introduce $35 monthly out-of-pocket caps.
Officials say nearly 700,000 Indiana residents have been diagnosed with diabetes, with millions more being pre-diabetic.
