An Evansville man was arrested and facing charges following a traffic stop.
Saturday night, deputies pulled over 40-year-old Michael Burris Jr. for speeding near the intersection of Fulton and Diamond Avenue.
The passenger told deputies that Burris was driving recklessly because he had smoked meth 20 minutes before getting behind the wheel.
She also claimed that he raised his hand at her and threatened to slap her asleep.
An open bottle of liquor was found in a cup holder, and drug paraphernalia was in the trunk.
A police report states that Burris failed field sobriety tests.
His charges include driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and intimidation.
