Evansville Fire officials were unable to determine what started the deadly house fire on Powell Avenue last month.
14-year-old Jeramya Craig and 10-year-old Paxton Craig passed away in that fire.
11-year-old Aleister Craig was later pronounced “neurologically deceased” after being flown to a hospital in Indianapolis.
Battalion Chief Gentry says they want to use this incident as a way to educate the community on the importance of smoke alarms, since there were no working smoke alarms in the home.
The fire department has ruled out any criminal activity in connection with it and says the case is closed.
