West Side Nut Club to Host 79th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Mater Dei High School
Evansville, Ind. — The West Side Nut Club is proud to announce the return of its beloved Easter
tradition as it hosts the 79th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Mater
Dei High School.
Each year, the event brings together thousands of families for what is known as the largest and
fastest Easter Egg hunt in the area. Members of the West Side Nut Club will prepare nearly
16,000 Easter eggs, each stuffed with candy and special prize tags. Lucky participants may find
prizes such as local gift certificates, candy baskets, stuffed animals, and more.
In addition to the egg hunt, families will have the opportunity to take photos with popular
characters. While the full character lineup has not yet been finalized, past favorites expected to
appear include Barny, Baby Bob, Shrek, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Big Bird, and
the Easter Bunny.
The event is open to children in the following age groups:
● Pre-School
● Kindergarten
● 1st through 3rd Grade
The West Side Nut Club Easter Egg Hunt will begin promptly at 1:00 PM CST with a
countdown. In keeping with tradition, the hunt is expected to conclude in under one minute,
with an estimated completion time of 1:00:59 PM CST.
Families are encouraged to arrive early to ensure children are ready when the countdown
begins.
This long-standing community event continues to be a favorite Evansville tradition, offering a fun
and memorable Easter experience for local families.
