One person was found dead in a burned-out home in Henderson County on Monday.
Crews from several area fire departments responded to the blaze about 3:30am and found the home fully involved.
A woman who lived in the home was taken to the hospital with burns and cuts, and firefighters had reason to believe someone was still inside.
They found him after the fire was put out and they could gain entry.
The identity of the man was not revealed pending an autopsy which will be held today in Louisville.
Firefighters did say the man and the hospitalized woman are related.
