University of Kentucky Police are investigating the death of a student from Henderson.
Officers were called to the Farm House Fraternity around 6:20 p.m. Monday about an unresponsive student.
That student was taken to UK Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The coroner identified the student as 18-year-old Thomas “Loston” Hazelwood, of Henderson, Ky.
The coroner says the Hazelwood’s cause of death, pending investigation, is presumed alcohol toxicity.
UK spokesperson Jay Blanton says Hazelwood was a first year student majoring in Agricultural Economics.
While the fraternity declined in person comments to media, they did release a statement about the situation stating that they are saddened about their new member’s passing and encourage all members to cooperate with the investigation.
