The Indiana Senate passed a bill yesterday that would expand Medicaid recipients access to long acting reversible birth control.
This includes implants such as Nexplanon, a device that goes under the skin and prevents pregnancy for up to three years.
State Senator Shelli Yoder says this is a necessary step forward in a state where nearly 50% of pregnancies are unplanned.
The bill passed the Indiana Senate 49-0.
