Last week the ATF National Response Team released the origin and cause report for the Morton warehouse fire.
On October 17 at 4:39 in the morning 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call reporting the smell of smoke in the area of E. Division Street and N. Kentucky Avenue.
Just before 5:00 it was declared a working fire.
After reviewing witness statement, examining photographs and videos investigators say the fire started on the 3rd floor.
This was a result of open flame ignition to available combustible material.
It was reported the fire was set to keep unauthorized occupants warm.
