The late Sgt. Heather Glenn has been named the 2023 Tell City Indiana Police Officer of the Year.
Sgt. Glenn was killed in 2023 responding to a shooting call at a hospital.
The police department said Glenn’s peers highly respected her for her courageous and dedicated service. Despite having supervisory responsibilities, Glenn also performed patrol duties, leading the department with DUI arrests in 2023.
The police department said Sgt. Glenn’s family received her posthumous designation.
