Cheating on a significant other can lead to all kinds of problems in a relationship. The excuses as to why one would cheat on someone can be infinite, but one study says the problem could be as deep as their DNA.

Take for example your parents. If one or both parents have cheated in the past, then those traits could have been transferred down to their children. Dr Madeleine Fugère, a social psychologist at Eastern Connecticut State university, has concluded that her research ‘suggests that infidelity has a strong genetic link.’ This study isn’t saying that cheating is okay because a study concurs there’s a good reason why it happened. So maybe if you’re unhappy in your relationship, get out of it so you don’t harm the mental wellbeing of your partner.
