In light of recent fires across our city, the Evansville Fire Department is
partnering with Pet Food Center to launch a dedicated K-9 Investigator team trained in
ignitable liquid detection. This specialized working dog will help fire investigators detect
minute traces of flammable liquids, such as gasoline and lighter fluid, critical for determining
the origins of fires and preventing future incidents.
For the first time in five years, the Evansville Fire Department will have a working dog
supporting the investigation unit. This addition will make our community stronger and safer.
