Starting today, Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will temporarily change the disinfectant used in the water treatment process.
The switch from chloramine to free chlorine is a common preventive maintenance practice.
It ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe drinking water to customers year-round.
During this period, customers may notice a slight change in taste or odor in their tap water.
Slightly like that of a swimming pool.
This poses no health risk.
This process will go on through September.
