Monday, just after midnight, a 14-year-old was hit and killed by a vehicle while walking on I-69 near Covert Avenue.
The victim has been identified as Nathan Snyder of Newburgh.
Sheriff Noah Robinson says the reasons for the child being on the roadway are unclear.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.
