Flooding closed the Burdette Park Aquatic Center over the weekend.
Officials say the drainage system around the pool could not keep up with the torrential rain.
This resulted in the ditches overflowing into the pool.
Which was carried in mud, rocks, and other debris.
Obviously, making it unsafe for swimmers.
To speed up the cleaning process, they had to drain the pool.
Staff immediately started the clean-up efforts and will continue around the clock to get the facility back to top-notch swimming quality.
Officials say this has only happened 7 or so times in 65 years.
The park hopes to have the pool back in business today.
