The Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District (EID) is
hosting their sixth annual Sidewalk Sale Presented by Heritage Federal Credit Union on Saturday
May 11 from 9 AM – 2 PM.
The event, billed as Evansville’s longest street sale, will feature more than 120+ merchants, makers,
entrepreneurs, and residents selling items on Main Street (from 2nd to Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd).
Activities will include a floral arch backdrop for photo memories and the distribution of 400 free
carnation flowers to mothers and mother figures in attendance. The photo backdrop and the carnation
distribution will take place in front of the Innovation Pointe building at 318 Main Street. Carnation
quantities will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Local musicians will perform along
Main Street.
“This event blends together two of the primary reasons why we organize events – to encourage
consumer spending at Downtown businesses and create memorable experiences in our
neighborhood. Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend Downtown by supporting our local businesses and
more than 120+ entrepreneurs and specialty vendors,” said Adam Trinkel, executive director, EID.
In 2023 10 businesses opened or expanded in Downtown Evansville. Downtown stores and
restaurants will be open and offering special deals. Food trucks Bruce Li and Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice
will serve guests food. Downtown restaurants will also be open for customers. Public restrooms will be
accessible for guests at the corner of Fourth and Main Streets.
