Indiana House Bill 1250, also known as the Susan Haynie Bill, has passed committee with a unanimous vote.
The Bill would require notifications to law enforcement when violent offenders are released from prison.
Representative Tim O’Brien said a notification might have prevented the murder of Evansville realtor Susan Haynie.
Jamerus Parkman is accused of the murder that happened on August 27, 2025.
Parkman was paroled six months before the incident.
The Bill now moves to the full house.
