After several delays and millions of dollars spent on repairs, Owensboro’s Blue Bridge will reopen today.
The $18 million rehab project was an important upgrade for the 85-year-old bridge.
The project replaced two spans of concrete-filled steel bridge decking, for a total of 900 feet.
This included work on both the Indiana and Kentucky sides of the bridge, as well as additional repairs that were identified after the project began last July.
Over 7,000 vehicles cross the Blue Bridge daily.
