Evansville organizations are participating in a nationwide initiative to count the number of families experiencing homelessness.
Aurora is leading the group with support from emergency shelters and service providers.
The Point-In-Time count gets its information by finding people who are living outside on the street.
They are then given resources.
The team checks on the ones accounted for every Thursday morning and the first and third Monday evenings of the month.
They verify where they are, which could be in a shed, a car, or a park bench.
Currently, there are over 400 homeless men, women, and children in Evansville.
