An Evansville man was arrested on Thursday on arson charges.
36-year-old Joshua Vailes is accused of setting a house on fire on North Evans Avenue in December.
Deputies were serving an eviction notice when they saw smoke coming from the home.
A K-9 detected the presence of ignitable liquids inside the residence.
Fire officials say they got multiple tips from people who said Vailes admitted to starting the fire.
One tipster said Vailes started the first fire in the kitchen, but a water line broke and put out the flames.
They say he then started a second fire in the bathroom.
Vailes is being held on a $20,000 bond.
