The New York Rangers locked up new forward Pavel Dorofeyev with a seven-year contract worth $77 million on Tuesday.
The Rangers acquired the Russian from the Vegas Golden Knights for three draft picks last Friday as the 2026 NHL Draft was getting underway. The Golden Knights received the Nos. 26 and 92 overall picks in the first and third rounds, respectively, of the 2026 draft and a conditional first-rounder in 2028.
After trading for a goal-scorer entering his prime, the Rangers paid Dorofeyev like one.
Dorofeyev set career highs in goals (37), assists (27) and points (64) while playing all 82 games for Vegas in 2025-26. The winger added 12 goals and four assists across 22 playoff games.
Through 231 career games in parts of five seasons with Vegas, Dorofeyev has amassed 149 points (92 goals, 57 assists).
