The Henderson County Planning Commission is moving forward with a proposed ordinance that would place new restrictions on wind turbines.
The proposal follows residents’ concerns about turbine height, noise, and possible health effects.
A 61-page draft addresses those issues, proposing a 200-foot height cap, stricter noise limits, and zoning restrictions.
If approved, construction of wind facilities would be limited strictly to heavy industrial zones.
