Oct 16 (Reuters) – Air Canada on Friday said it will launch new trans-border routes in partnership with United Airlines for summer 2027, expanding non-stop access to US destinations and enhancing connections across the country.
The carrier will launch services from Toronto to Louisville, Montreal to Indianapolis and Edmonton to Newark during the season, while also increasing capacity on its Edmonton-San Francisco route by deploying larger Airbus aircraft.
Here are more details:
• The expansion comes as Air Canada and United Airlines seek to deepen their presence in the Canada-US market through their joint business agreement, despite softer cross-border demand in recent months
• The new routes support both business and leisure travel, while advancing Air Canada’s strategy of connecting US passengers through its Canadian hubs to destinations in Europe and Asia, the Canadian airline said
• United Airlines also announced a new seasonal service between Newark and St. John’s, Newfoundland, and new flights from Denver to Ottawa and Quebec City, while increasing service on several existing Canada routes
• The carriers have also agreed to renew and expand their trans-border joint business agreement, subject to regulatory approval from Canadian authorities, the airline said
